About Columbia Earthmovers

Your Foundation for Success in North Western Washington

Building on the eastern side of the mountains brings unique challenges like drainage control and slope stability. Columbia Earthmovers specializes in turning these obstacles into build-ready assets. Whether it’s a winding mountain access road or a precision-leveled shop pad, our team focuses on 100% accuracy.

Don’t Pay for the Same Job Twice Shortcuts in excavation lead to expensive structural repairs. Property owners often face eroding shoulders, exposed pipes, and sinking foundations when a site isn’t prepared correctly.

Our Promise: 50+ years of hands-on knowledge goes into every project. We understand the soil, the slopes, and the local requirements. When you hire us, you’re investing in a site that stays stable for decades.

Our Leadership: A Legacy Built on Earth & Family

Shane Martin — Owner / Lead Operator

For Shane, excavation is more than a trade—it’s a lifelong passion that began in 1979, digging house foundations alongside his father in the Snoqualmie area. Together, they grew the business into subdivision development until his father’s passing in 1985. Since then, Shane has spent over four decades mastering every scale of earthwork across Washington State.

His career has spanned the skyline of the Pacific Northwest, from Downtown Seattle and Bellevue north to Bellingham and south to Olympia. His portfolio includes high-stakes projects on Indian reservations, complex golf course builds, strip malls, office buildings, and expansive apartment complexes, as well as several high schools and colleges.

A New Chapter in Chelan

After 40 years in the Seattle metropolitan area, Shane returned to the place where he grew up water skiing: Eastern Washington. The move to Chelan marked a new chapter for the family. When his son, Connor Martin, returned home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan, he shared his father’s vision for building a business based on integrity and hard work.

The Next Generation

For the last 15 years, Shane and Connor have operated in the Chelan area as a father-and-son team. They combine Shane’s 50 years of deep industry knowledge with the discipline and drive Connor brought home from his service.

“It has been my life’s passion to move the earth and build the foundations of our communities. It is a true honor to serve our customers across Washington State, and I am proud to be building this legacy alongside my son here in Chelan.” ~Shane Martin
